Find your scheduled week

Waste Management collects up to four cubic yards of bulk waste from eligible residents once each month. Use the city's bulk-waste page, map, and schedule to find the setout week for your address.

Check the size of your load

The city describes one cubic yard as about two 96-gallon carts or one sofa, large chair, or washing machine. Contact Waste Management before setout if the load may exceed four cubic yards.

Set items out on time

Place the items at the curb by 7 a.m. Monday of your scheduled bulk week. The crew may collect them later in that week.

Know what is accepted

The city lists these examples:

• Furniture, including chairs, tables, armoires, cabinets, chests, headboards, sofas, mattresses, dressers, and interior doors
• Washers, dryers, dishwashers, stoves, drained toilets, microwaves, and hot-water tanks
• Refrigerators, freezers, window air conditioners, and similar appliances tagged as free of refrigerant
• Fence sections, bagged leaves, and other residential items too large for the cart

Keep prohibited items out

The city excludes appliances that still contain refrigerant, batteries, motor oil and filters, tires, vehicles and vehicle parts, concrete, brick, asphalt, roofing, contractor construction debris, gasoline, paint, and individual items weighing more than 200 pounds.

Arrange collection for a larger load

Call Waste Management at 903-794-4111 to schedule and pay for collection above the four-cubic-yard limit.

Consider self-disposal

Texarkana, Texas residents may take ordinary household bulk waste to the New Boston Landfill without a disposal fee. Bring the most recent water bill and a driver's license showing the same address. Construction and remodeling debris is charged by weight.

Schedule pickup for your address

The 2026 Dial-a-Truck schedule assigns pickup dates by ward, but the city requires residents to call Public Works to be added to the schedule. Give staff your service address and ask them to confirm your pickup date. Call 870-779-4971 or 870-779-4977 before setting anything out.

Confirm eligibility

Single-family homes and duplexes are eligible for one free collection under the published 2026 schedule. Commercial properties, contractors, and apartment complexes are excluded.

Know what is accepted

The Dial-a-Truck schedule lists couches, chairs, mattresses, washers, dryers, drained hot-water heaters, carpet, vinyl flooring, and limited amounts of drywall or paneling from residents. It allows one refrigerant-bearing appliance per household after the refrigerant has been removed.

Keep prohibited items out

The schedule excludes tires, paint, railroad ties, and construction materials. Because it separately allows limited drywall and paneling, call Public Works before setting out any building or remodeling material.

Do not confuse pickup with cleanup dumpsters

The Refuse Division also publishes a quarterly citywide cleanup schedule. Those temporary dumpsters do not accept large furniture or appliances and exclude many other materials. Check the 2026 quarterly cleanup flyer before using them.
